Well that never went to plan! This post should have been out at the end of November but the Etsy shop went crazy so I had to concentrate on getting orders out and maybe seeing my family a little bit 😉. Everything’s back to normal now so let’s talk makeup removers.
The sweet almond oil worked just like the sunflower oil, as it’s quite a thin oil. It would definitely work better with muslin or flannel, and I had intended to actually make myself some (I use hemp or the flannel/towel mix at the minute) but orders came first. I’ll treat myself this month 😂😂. Anyway, I used more oil than I’d have liked because of its consistency, but it removed the makeup, and the pads washed well afterwards.
Price per bottle £7.96 for 1 litre from Mystic Moments.
Conclusion
Price comparison (Boots No 7 as the ‘norm’ – £7.50/100ml – 75p/10ml 😳)
- Organic Coconut oil – £2.29/300ml – 8p/10ml
- Sunflower oil – £1.10/1000ml – 1p/10ml
- Olive oil – £2.35/500ml – 5p/10ml
- Sweet almond oil – £7.96/1000ml – 8p/10ml
You’d definitely use more of the sunflower oil and sweet almond oil each time, making those more expensive. You’d use less of the coconut oil making it last longer, plus there’d be less waste.
My winner
I don’t think you’re surprised really 😉 I love that it is solid so I barely use any. I love the smell. I love that it is organic. I love that there are NO nasties, and it comes in a glass jar. I love that I don’t drip it anyway while trying to get it on the pad. I love that Aldi have it at £1.99 at the minute making it even cheaper!
Have you tried any? What did you think? I’d love to know ☺️
