I love to make things, it’s in my genes. My Mum, my Nan and my Grandma all made things so the crafty gene passed to me (thankfully my sister got the housework gene hehe!)
Having a crafty business came about as a way for me to cope when my amazing Mum about died, aged 50. It was an incredibly difficult time, but by being creative and doing the things that she loved, I had an outlet and Handmade Haven was born. It was my Haven..my escape. I sold a variety of things (including fabric and felt goodies) but the soaps came from the heart, rather than a need to make money. I started making soaps as I wanted to know what I was putting on my skin. What my family were putting on their skin. Things progressed from there, so now we have natural bath goodies, cleanser pads and linens that you see in the shop today.
I’m married to my best friend and school sweetheart. We have three boys, two dogs and a cat. I’m a potterhead, I love books and films (and I hate housework).
